Family and domestic violence is a major cause of homelessness. 33% of female clients and 17% of all males clients seeking support from homelessness services in Tasmania were experiencing domestic violence. In our submission, Shelter Tasmania urges the Department to identify and address any gaps in the system, and to ensure that sufficient resources are available to enable those experiencing violence to access the services and safe housing they need.
