Federal Budget 2016
National Shelter has responded to this week’s federal budget announcement’s with a media release, ‘Budget ignores housing affordability’. This statement highlights sector concerns and funding omissions, including failure make changes to negative gearing and capital gains tax, no increase to public housing funding, no new money for rental affordability incentives, no addition to homelessness responses or inclusion of National Partnership Agreement on Homelessness funding beyond 2016/17, and no increase to Commonwealth Rent Assistance.
