Anglicare
Anglicare  manage a number of properties in Launceston, Ulverstone and Hobart. These facilities provide supportive, affordable and long-term accommodation for a range of different age groups, who require support or are at risk of homelessness. Tenants live in independent units, with access to training, and communal facilities on site.

Thyne House (Launceston)

Provides accommodation for single people or couples aged between 16 and 25. Thyne House has fully independent units, plus communal areas and outdoor spaces. Thyne House residents are  encouraged and supported to be involved in employment, education or training. A support worker is on-site weekdays to assist and facilitate recreational activities, and there are also regular house meetings for residents.

Trinity Hill (Hobart)

Trinity Hill has 46 independent and supported living units for young people aged between 16 – 25 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Sixteen of the units are suitable for young people who have a disability. There are shared communal facilities and outdoor areas, and a support worker on-site to support and assist tenants, and regular resident meetings. Tenants need to be working towards or participating in education, training or employment

Grove House (Ulverstone)

This communal residence accommodates up to 20 people (over 18) in fully independent units, there are also communal and outdoor spaces. There is a support worker on-site to assist with activities and other requirements.

Thistle Street (Launceston)

Thistle Street has accommodation for people over 18 (singles and couples) in fully independent units, as well as a communal kitchen, lounge and outdoor spaces. The support worker is on-site on weekdays to assist.

Eveline House (Devonport)

Eveline House offers safe and affordable long term housing with on-site support and access to education, training, employment and other opportunities for young people aged 16 to 24. It has 25 self-contained units, five of them purpose-built for people living with a disability. Tenants also have access to shared laundry facilities as well as training rooms, gym, common areas, outdoor spaces and a games room.

 

Lodges
Anglicare also provide communal, long term accommodation in 4 supported residential facilities across the State. Eligibility is the same as for public housing, targeting people on low incomes. Facilities cater for singles and couples over 18 years of age who wish to live in a communal setting. Rent/board is calculated at 85% of people’s income (excluding CRA); this covers 3 meals a day, electricity, weekly linen service for sheets and towels and some recreational activities. The facilities are staffed by a Lodge Manager who lives on site.

Launceston City Mission
As well as crisis and medium term accommodation, Launceston City Mission (Orana House) provides long term accommodation as a part of its centre in Newnham.  Single men over 18 are supported with meals and 24 hour staff access as well as accommodation in 7 ensuite bedrooms.  Common areas include gardens, games and lounge rooms and a reading area. Residents are provided with a chance of stability in a communal setting, an opportunity to build on living skills and help to reach basic life goals. There is also the possibility of transitioning into one of four units on site, which are still close to support and provide a further step towards independent living.
