#HW2023 Welcome Address
Homelessness Week 2023 official welcome by the Hon Nic Street, Minister for Housing and Construction.
Homelessness Week raises awareness of people experiencing homelessness, the issues they face and the action needed to achieve enduring solutions.
This year Homelessness Week is from 7th to 13th August.
The national Homelessness Week theme for 2023 is ”It’s time to end homelessness”. The theme highlights the need for action to end homelessness.
Tasmania is experiencing a housing crisis. From 2016 to 2021 the rate of homelessness in Tasmania increased by 45%.
