Representatives of Tasmania’s Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) meet regularly throughout the year to informally network, exchange ideas and experiences, discuss sector-wide issues, developments and operational policy (which may include government policy as it relates to homelessness and housing).
SHS Forums are held seven times a year – three meetings in Hobart (Southern Forum), three meetings in Launceston or Devonport (N/NW Forum), plus one Statewide Forum. Shelter Tas facilitates the forums in its role as the sector peak body, which are also attended by at least one representative from the Department of Communities.
