As part of this year’s Homelessness Awareness Week, we are holding a sewing bee to make re-usable face masks and hand warmers for those in our community who are in need.
We have been thinking a lot about the current situation in Victoria and mandatory mask-wearing. People experiencing homelessness face huge barriers in accessing sufficient precautionary measures to keep themselves and others safe. So we want to be prepared for the possibility of a Covid-19 outbreak in Tassie. Creating packs of reusable face masks that we can readily distribute to the community if and when they are needed will help curb the spread.
