As part of Homelessness Week, Centacare Evolve Housing and St Joseph Affordable Homes are seeking support from your school, councils and libraries to raise awareness of people experiencing homelessness, create an understanding of support services and community housing, and inspire action needed to achieve enduring solutions.
We are asking students to decorate houses printed on card or create a big one with facts about homelessness in Tasmania, messages around what it means to have a home, and possible solutions to end homelessness.
We will use these houses to be displayed by councils around Tasmania to call for action, to join our ‘Yes In My Backyard’ (YIMBY) campaign and support for the housing and homelessness sector.
You can also support the YIMBY campaign by engaging with #YIMBY and sharing our content/tagging us on social media channels, and we are more than happy to arrange a time to attend your school to provide a brief information session with students. Electronic resources and social media tiles are available on the Centacare Evolve website.
