Surviving Homelessness takes courage, humility, resourcefulness, determination, and endurance and that is what we want you to have on your Hats for Homelessness Day.

Step 1 – Pick a day between August 2-8 and Register!

Talk to your colleagues or class mates and pick a day between August 2-8 2020.

Once registered you will receive resources and information sheets with facts and figures.

Step 2 – Everyone wears a hat!

For a gold coin donation, everyone gets to wear a hat on your chosen day and when people ask why you are wearing a silly hat, take the opportunity to let them know that homelessness can happen to anyone and we need to remove the stigma around homelessness and be a community that doesn’t leave anyone behind.

Step 3 – Send us your photos and coins!

Collect your coins and send them in with as many photos as you can! By contributing your gold coin, you are helping our housing programs to go above and beyond our funding limitations to provide personal items, food, household and pantry items for people experiencing homelessness. These things might seem insignificant, but they provide enormous comfort and relief to anyone experiencing homelessness.

Post it on your Work / Schools online platform (Facebook, website, Instagram/ twitter…) and tag us with #HW2020  #Colony47 #Housingendshomelessness

By raising awareness, you are helping to create a community of people who can share and promote an understanding of homelessness in our community.
