The Employability Expo intends to raise awareness around the significant influence employment has on reducing repeat homelessness, and to encourage other employers to sign up to hire residents from Bethlehem House, and more broadly to become inclusive employers in our community.
On the day, we will provide information from multiple sources to address the barriers for employers around hiring people experiencing or at risk of homelessness and those with experience of the justice system. There will be information shared by those who have given opportunities to those in need, those who have been given opportunities themselves, and services who work with/support people with lived experience. Hobart Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds will also be there to officially open the event.
People can get involved by monitoring and promoting the Facebook live stream of the event, and by visiting Bethlehem House’s Facebook page post-event for videos. Any donations to Bethlehem House will help maintain funding for the Bethlehem House Employment Program.
