ACTION AUGUST is a Glenorchy City Council initiative to raise awareness of people experiencing homelessness, including a collection drive to support Glenorchy Salvation Army and local families.
This month-long project will collect dry and tinned goods for people and their pets; and also new items for babies 0 to 5 years of age.
How can I get involved? Donations of goods can be left at Glenorchy City Council Chamber, 374 Main Road Glenorchy, Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm. Donated items will go to Glenorchy Salvation Army and Chigwell Child and Family Centre for distribution.
What can I donate? The collection will focus on dried pasta, jars of pasta sauce and tinned goods; along with contributions of new jocks and socks.
As always, Loui’s Van will be in Glenorchy sharing food and information, every Sunday to Thursday, 7.45pm to 8.15pm – located in the rear car park at Glenorchy City Council.
