Throughout May 2023, Shelter Tas conducted a statewide headcount of the housing and homelessness workforce. We now know that our sector employs 1225 individuals – this represents a 41% increase from the 863 that were counted five years ago in 2018, and reflects the increased demand for services due to the chronic shortage of affordable rental homes and increased homelessness. …
