Housing Tas has provided an update on progress made towards the Affordable Housing Action Plan 2015-2019.
“The Tasmanian Government has committed $73.5 million towards Tasmania’s Affordable Housing Action Plan 2015‑2019.
So far, we have helped 140 new households to access safe and affordable housing including:
– 51 new house and land packages and new dwellings through the HomeShare scheme
– 14 Housing Tasmania dwellings purchased through the HomeShare scheme
– 38 Housing Tasmania dwellings purchased through the Streets Ahead Incentive Program
– 37 young people assisted into supported accommodation at Trinity Hill.
Great progress has also been made with a range of initiatives that require consultation, planning and design.
We are on track to help over 1,600 new households by June 2019.
In addition, nine homes have been allocated for households escaping family violence through the Family Violence Action Plan.”
